The Wikipedia saga continues (and other news of the weird)
The poor schmo who published the false autobiography of John Siegenthaler in Wikipedia has come forward to confess his sins. Turns out he was playing a joke on a co-worker and didn't understand that Wikipedia is used as a serious research source by many people. I don't know whether to think ill of him for his ignorance or to applaud him for raising folks' consciousness.
Unrelated, but equally bizarre, is the news of British historian David "The-Holocaust-Never-Happened" Irving finding his own books to read in an Austrian prison while in custody for Holocaust denial (in Austria, denying the Holocaust is a criminal offense). The embarrassed prison authorities promised to remove the books from the 6,400-volume library. Hmm, I'll have to check the shelves at the Champaign County jail tonight when I report in for my Books-to-Prisoners shift.
