March Madness

You know what I like about March? Beside the fact that my birthday is in March, it is also time for March Madness, baby! Yeah, in about a week, 65 Division I college basketball teams will compete for a national championship.

I will probably have 50 different brackets made. Hopefully, one of them makes me look clairvoyant. But realistically, some random team like George Mason will probably kill my brackets.

That’s OK, because that’s why I like March Madness so much. It’s so fun to watch a no-name team upset a powerhouse like Kansas with a buzzer-beater. It is do-or-die for everyone, and you can bet that everyone is giving 200 percent.

It is also a time for you to root for your favorite team and the teams you have in your brackets. I’ve found that the games are much more interesting if you have one of the teams winning. So if you are not planning on making brackets, you are missing out on half the fun. Don’t worry if you have no idea who to root for; choose the team that has better looking unis or something like that.

My love for March Madness was rekindled when Illinois made it to the championship game in ‘05. That was a special year, and I hope Illinois will win it sometime soon.
