Carmody, Pitt rank as "Best of Class"

Posted Thursday, April 27, 2006, The OG, news

Seniors Katie Carmody and Michael Pitt will represent Uni High in WCIA's annual “Best of the Class” television broadcasts later this spring.

Each year during graduation season WCIA, the local CBS affiliate, recognizes top area seniors and their schools through a series of one-minute vignettes set to music. The students are usually valedictorians. In the case of schools such as Uni that don't use a class-ranking system, WCIA provides a formula by which the students are selected.

Carmody, Pitt, and other area seniors will be videotaped on May 20 at Lake of the Woods Park, near Mahomet.

WCIA has aired the “Best of the Class” each year since 1983.
