The boys varsity basketball team extended its winning streak to 14 games with a 58-49 overtime victory against Unity on Tuesday, Feb. 14. The win would have been impressive enough considering that it came on the road against a strong Unity team boasting a solid 16-7 record. The fact that the Illineks came back from a 17-4 deficit in the first quarter made the victory even sweeter. The game established the 20-5 Illineks as a legitimate contender for a Class A regional title. Career scoring leader Al Renner and his fellow seniors will play their final game at Kenney Gym this Friday against Judah Christian. Varsity action begins at 7:30 p.m.
