The Uni girls basketball season ended Tuesday night with a decisive 61-21 loss to Unity in the second round of the Class A playoffs at St. Thomas More High School in Champaign.

Senior Al Johnson led Uni with eight points in her last game as an Illinek, but Unity, a No. 4 seed in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda sectional, dominated the entire game. Uni was seeded 18th in the sectional.

“They executed everything almost perfectly,” said freshman forward Rachel Skoza of her team's opponents, who led 33-6 at halftime.

Uni advanced in the regionals by defeating Judah Christian 47-35 Monday night at St. Thomas More, the fourth year in a row that the girls opened their Class A tournament action with a victory.

The Illineks finished the 2005-06 season with an 8-16 overall record and a 5-5 conference mark. They tied for third in the East Central Illinois Conference with Judah Christian.
