    Sophomore Jamie Blue picked up where she left off from her spectacular freshman season by recording a triple-double in Uni's 2009-10 debut Thursday night. Freshman Emma Hoyer proved that she will be a force to be reckoned as well, adding a double-double and leading the team in both points and rebounds.

Fabulous Freshman Emma Hoyer (24) takes control of the basketball during Uni's 55-54 overtime victory Saturday afternoon against Chrisman. The 6-foot freshman scored eight points and grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds in the win. The Illineks played two games in five hours as the 23rd annual McDonald's Comet Classic got underway at Oakwood High School. In the morning, the girls beat Westville 59-43. Hoyer finished the day with 23 points and 26 rebounds, while sophomore Jamie Blue had 42 points, 15 rebounds, and 15 assists. The team is now 3-0. Tournament action will resume 6 p.m. Monday when Uni plays Hoopeston Area at Oakwood Grade School. To see our previous "In Focus" photos, click here.
